Can’t remember? If it’s been more than 15,000 km since your previous brake service, it’s time to have them inspected by the experts at Don Houghton Automotive. We specialise in brake servicing and auto brake repair Artarmon & Lane Cove.
Practice Regular Brake Maintenance
For obvious reasons, the brake system is one of the most important systems on your vehicle. Consisting of various components, from the master cylinder to the pads and rotors, it is designed to transfer and multiply the force you apply to the pedal in order to safely stop your vehicle.
If you don’t practice proper and regular brake maintenance, there are a number of complications that could arise and eventually compromise the safety of your car. Brake issues can present many symptoms, from a warning light on the dash, to noises or pulsation when
braking. Components such as the pads and rotors wear out, callipers can seize or corrosion can cause lines to leak.
If you notice any of the above issues, it’s time to give our automotive brake repair experts in Artarmon a call.
Artarmon’s Trusted Brake Service and Repair Shop
Our brake repair technicians can help you to fully understand how your brakes work, and how to address any issues. In most vehicles, the tolerances of the braking components at the wheels are tight in order to prevent noises and improve performance. However, these tighter tolerances mean rust and corrosion can leave components bound up and the brakes dragging, or not releasing fully.
In the event your brakes require service or replacement, our trained technicians will:
First, remove the callipers and brake pads,
Remove all rust and corrosion,
Paint the areas with graphite to prevent corrosion,
Apply high temperature brake lube to any slides or pins to prevent further issues.
At this point, your original brake parts are reinstalled if the job is a brake service. If new components are being installed, they would be installed at this point. The job is then complete.
From minor brake servicing to major brake repair Artarmon, Don Houghton Automotive’s technicians are fully equipped to ensure your brakes are going to work as well as they were designed to – for years to come.
